The Fraandship Factor

Okay I agree this has GOT to be a done to death topic but then this one's got scope to be different I promise:).
Who hasn't experienced the can- you -make fraandship- with -me phenomenon ha?really makes you wonder if guys could actually get any lamer right?well, something made me explore the above mentioned phenomenon back in JC... So this would have to be summer holidays,all friends outta town, me bored outta my wits, the net being my only savior and respite from the torture I was undergoing...n im sure you all know, the more time you spend on the netty, more chances of being on the receiving end of tonnnnns of fraandship requests. I decided to put them to good use.( It would be extremely kind of you to keep in mind that I was BORED.I'll keep reminding you'll as well.)
Okayyyy .... So here goes. I took the efforts n created a new yahoo messenger profile...fake asl et al n hit the most crowded chatroom at that time...I think it was the harry potter wala(however bored I might've been, you wouldn't catch me dead in the bollywood or relationships room ha!)as soon as I enter, windows start popping on the screen"asl?""hi babes"(gag reflex reaction)"hey sexy"(puke! Gasp!splutter!) and finally a "hey can u make fraandship with me?"(whew!it's about time I say!)
So here started my experiment. I started responding. Normal replies re...not even horny wannabe ones ha. Two to three lines into the chat, wannabe fraand asks if I got "cam" n if I'd be interested in some 'ahem ahem' fun and that just about puts an end to the conversation from my end, SPAM!!!SPAM!! mArk as Spam!.....done....phewww! Aage badho, there's absolutely no dearth of despo doodhs on yahoo.guy no2...same as above, no3, no4, no5, no6,...all the same!!conclusion?? Very easy to draw don't you think?
Enter last guy before I lose patience... Phoenix something, says the same things, can you make fraandship blah blah but doesn't get to the cam part... Instead talks about interests and harry potter!! In toota foota English. We chat a few times n slowly slowly his English improves!!!magically!!! N I then get to know he's an IIT ka bandha!!shocked or what!! Turns out he's the shy nervous types who can't really make a good first impression. Reminds me of chandler. LOL. A lot later I findout he actually IS a lot like him n he thinks so himself! Almost five years down the line we're still friends n he's one of the Few people interact with despite having Not met him yet. Undoubtedly one of the smartest people I've met too... Say, giving "fraandShip" a chance paid off afterall ;).
P.S: Try at your own risk though. Not everyone is lucky when It comes to fraandship on yahoo you know:).

Mind Games

Every night, as i toss and turn in bed trying to get to sleep, I inadvertently end up trying to think of blog updates.hehe. And yes, every night i mentally phrase an update in my head, sleep only when I'm pleased with it... only to forget what i had thought of the next morning!! Grrrrrr... How frustrating is that??? So many updates in my head all posted but never delivered. Just like our Indian Postal System. I'm Indian after all...but i wonder when this will change, when my brain will retain at least the basic thought behind the update if not the post word to word. I really wouldn't mind rewriting the whole thing provided i have the idea in my mind!!
This is just not done ha!(ps. this is for my brain) You've got to get your act right... n soon!>:P

The Indian Premier League

IPL…what an amazing start! Taking the best there is in India, Cricket & SRK…that’s SOME “fatte” way of getting the cash boxes ringing, and ringing hard! Saw the very first match yesterday… and twenty20 we’ve found out by now is really very interesting, and that’s what it exactly was! Frankly speaking, I’m not a cricket buff. I go as far as watching matches in tournaments only if India happens to be playing and IF I got company to watch the match…I wouldn’t of my own accord ever switch channels to watch a cricket match. Infact, I don’t even watch a match if I happen to be surfing channels alone and a I see a match going on… football though is a different ball game all together[;)]

But since the twenty20 world cup…yeah...that’s gotten me hooked! The matches are short, compact, not boring at all…always entertaining! And that’s precisely why I was looking forward to the IPL… looks like entrepreneurs have learnt and tapped the proper niche required to rake in money by the truckloads and keep the audiences glued “and” Happy at the same time!! The first match was enough proof for that… first with the news channels publicizing the fact that it was SRK vs/ Mallya…cricket not even in the picture at that time! And then obviously the match…a star studded event…looks like page three spent its day on the field for a change…hehe. And the performances were mesmerizing…a great effort I must say.

All that said and done…let’s get to the match, shall we? ENERGY…that’s the only word I could use to describe it. The consecutive sixes and fours had us exhilarated! (every Indian knows how excited cricket makes people here…hai na?)

Brendon McCullum…fattang performance…highly entertaining!! wouldn’t really go into all the details of the match because I’m sure most of you must’ve seen it. But I must say that it was surely high on the entertainment factor!

Why am I stressing so much on entertainment you ask?? In a country like India, where cricket is followed like a religion, I ain’t too sure how many people would like me calling it entertaining so many times. Some might go ahead ask me HOW much I know about the game, and to be frank, I don’t. I don’t religiously follow cricket and nor do I intend to…IPL, I will cuz it has just caught my fancy and it’s interesting. Sitting in front of the tv for a whole day watching a 50 over match or worse, a test match!! Is surely not my cup of tea.

Well, we saw the whole match and yaa… one can’t ignore the fact that the whole gig might be rigged…or fixed. I mean, aren’t those WWE results out on the net way before the matches take place?? People still watch em don’t they?? I think they’re crazy though…lolol..brainless gits…teehee…but the IPL matches being rigged thing, it may be true…or may not but I don’t particularly care ya. As long as “I” don’t know what’s going to happen in the next ball, I’ll watch the damn thing. Fixed or not fixed… “I just happen to like it”…bleh!

PS: about whom I’m supporting?? I haven’t thought about it yet…will decide after I watch a few more games…btw…they’re coming close to home on the 26^th!!n I’m going!!!.......erm…mostly;)

Sabke Results aa gaye par mere nahi :(. Fundo,express everyone everyone…I couldn’t go to college today cuz of a wedding in the family. Yaa right, Jab sab results ka intezaar kar rahe they, I was busy hogging yummilicious food;) ,arrre but I really hate some of these profs ya…mere friends ko mera result diya hi nahi!! I mean, despite me having taken the trouble of going to college yesterday…writing an authority letter, getting the friend who was supposed to collect the results to meet the vice principal, get an approval, blah blah blah. Phir bhi nahi diya!! This, is what I’d call(in Anshul’s words) highly unparliamentary behavior on the prof’s part. God alone knows what satisfaction he would have gotten by refusing a student her report card even though she had completed the formalities required because she would be absent! Aise log naaa…aaargh!! Bloody sadists >:P

Ab kal hi milega humein humara result. Wish me Luck!

Life in Cartoon Motion

This could well be called a reference to fundo’s rants on pop music. Made me want to talk about my favorite pop album…n one of the recent releases that too! I might’ve grown out of the pop music phase of my life but this one album just doesn’t seem to get outta my head!
M talking about “Life in cartoon motion” by MIKA…not apna mika singh ok?? He’s this fatte hyperactive guy who makes you WANT to listen to his music…atleast in my case.[:p] For those who don’t know, one of his most favorite songs would be “love today”…the tune of which you used to hear as star world’s theme music till a month ago…goes something like..doom tar a ri ra ri...lolol….can’t recreate that here hehehehe…
About the album, by far one of the very few pop albums that I’ve completely liked and enjoyed. All his songs are a Huge Carnival!!! It’s like a new party with every new song!! Personal favorite??LOLLYPOP!(my last week tak ka callertune!), Grace Kelly, Billy Brown, My interpretation, Love today, Big girl,you are beautiful…aah all of em! Fatte Fatte album…and MIKA???he’s this adorable, hyperactive, high on sugar entertainer that sure does keep u well entertained…
Do get your hands on this one! I can’t promise all of you’d like it…but do try…its one of those happy songs wala album that makes u perky n chirpy n all that ;)

The Bucket List

Yesterday was, me n my friend keedu thought, the last time for us to catch the bucket list on the big screen. So, t’was decided. We were gonna watch it whether the whole gang came along or not…yeh movie watch karna important tha yaar! 5:30 show at Huma adlabs, Fundo not answering phone calls…grrrr…so it was just the 2 of us. Me n keedu at kanjurmarg, we’d never ever been there before…so we were just havin fun roaming around. Tickets liye, the guy at the counter asking if we wanted corner seats??huh..? nevermind…ache beech wale seats book kiye n went in. Constant stares. Took us a minute to realize we were the only ones who weren’t couples for that show…atleast conventional, acceptable couples that is…hehe. Hardly 15 people in the theatre and all sitting in different corners..sheesh! we were disgusted! Decided not to look around at all and only stare at the screen. But once the movie started…there seriously wasn’t anything else we would have wanted to do anyways!
AMAZING movie I must say. A huge Morgan Freeman fan that I am, and keedu being a Jack Nicholson pagal, We thoroughly enjoyed the 1 hr 38 minutes ka picture. About the movie, it goes like this- Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson had been given only 6 months to live. Jack, a multi millionaire AND owner of the hospital they both were in. Freeman tries to rewrite his “bucket list” in the hospital and jack asks him about it. Well, A bucket list is basically a list of things a person’d want to do before he died..or lets say “kicked the bucket”. Now starts the real movie with Jack Nicholson offering to finance Freeman in fulfilling his list and they make it both their lists. So the two set off and what ensues is a wonderfully told tale in wonderful locales.
What I particularly loved about the movie was the way things were described…very very beautiful I must say. So guys, please don’t miss the movie! Take my word, You’ll enjoy it!....n bleh you to my friends who didn’t make it…you missed something reallay good.

And btw, this movie has tempted me to create a tag too...a la fundo if i may say so! C'mon guys...i want you to make your bucket list...maybe taking a workd tour, meeting the love of your life, eating till u burst open...hehe..watever watever ur little wishes might be...put it down!!

Tagged by Fundo… Ok, so I gotta write down 5 things I’d do if I were of the opposite sex. Alright..here goes!

I’d stay out late for one…I so hate the fact that its such a big deal when girls come home late and nothing when boys do.
If I ever was a boy, I guarantee you I’d be a tall tall one. I’ve always wanted to be tall!! But then being a girl, haven’t had much of a choice there…well yeah..tall girls do exist…unfortunately… I aint one of em. If I were a ladka, there’d be more chances of me being tall than short If u know what I mean.:P
Go bald. Yes I so want to!...not that I’m not tempted even though I’m a girl…but then I’m answerable to my people and they’d never ever let me do it so bleh!:(…it’d be much easier if I were a boy…don’t you think so?
Ok…now consider the possibility of me being a boy only for one day…just one…then I roam around in nice pink girl clothes…very girly clothes. Yes. Why you ask?...aah..just for the heck of it.:P
I’d get to go anywhere I want to without having people think about my safety and the kind of people I’d be dealing with wherever I end up. That I’m sure would be bliss!

About Floors and how I manage to find my way around them…

I can have the most amazing photographic memory when it comes to observing things…but then again the day dreamer that I am…I tend to miss out stuff at times…matlab see…dost log walking; dost log seeing nice good looking boy; dost log commenting; me?? in my own world. Also, all people sidey, people worth commenting on…dost log always see! me?? no time…own world mein busy. N haan! Eve teasers?? Can never ever bother me with their comments!! why?? I never seem to hear them!! It’s the people I’m walking with or the people I’m walking towards who point it out to me. I dunno if that’s a bad habit…but that’s basically how I am!
Ok yeah! coming back to the point, about floors. What I was trying to get to was the fact that I have a nice photographic memory when it comes to remembering how people’s houses look like once I’ve been there…also a fairly okay idea of how to get there. But when it comes to which floor they live on? ...pooof! no clue! It’s happened so many times! I could’ve gone to that place say 10 times already! ...but if it’s been more than a week, chances are I’ve already forgotten the floor. Some friends can remember everything…forgetting the floor on which someone stays isn’t generally regarded as a problem around here I know…but then it worries me how I tend to forget only the floor and nothing else!! When it comes to remembering things about people…I can proudly tag myself as an expert…well…good listeners do have that gift. [:P]…but yeh floor ka maamla I really dunno re…kya kisi aur ko aisa problem hai????




now thats my very own superhero!i wonder if he can solve this problem.lol

Getting my tag right

Got to know my tag was wrong! It’s supposed to be seven things about me…not 7 things that come into my head at that point of time…yaa I think I finally got it right. I got to jot down the seven things about ME that come into my mind as I’m writing this post…yay! M smart…see?

*I hate hypocrites. And I seem to find them all over…sad na?

*My favorite thing to eat is Pav Bhaji, Ice cream from Baskin Robbins, Dutch truffles from birdy’s or croissants, whiskey crème gelato, chaat!....ummm…on second thoughts, it should have been my favorite thingS to eat.
*I always keep secrets…yes yes I do.
*Family, then friends…always…but that don’t mean I don’t love my friends that much…love em to death.
*I don’t like shrieking and shouting for no reason…n people who do that way too often tend to annoy me at times.
*I can’t do without music…M crazy about The Beatles and Pink Floyd.

Aah! that’s done…but you know what? I could write a lot more…I guess I should leave it for later…maybe another update about me…actually more about what I hate….could make an endless list on that!

See!Updates ka Overdose!!

Vacations have begun and I’m gonna be around my blog more often than I thought. Nicely spent the whole of the first week reading,sleeping and listening to music…was just starting to get bored of that routine when Karen called and said they had a gig coming up in their college. There! I HAD to go! One… to get rid of that newfound boredom…and two…SCEPTRE!
Well yeah…I haven’t been to almost every gig of theirs and nor do I know all of their OC’s…but one gig at my college(Ruia…J) was enough to get me addicted to the energy Teemeer has on stage. So you could call me a fan in the making…lol.

Well about the gig…pretty decent in someways and not so decent in some others. Actually the only decent thing about it was Sceptre…seriously..i aint kidding. T’was supposed to start at 4:00 pm…but Amrock got scrapped at the last moment…Even after there had been elims the day before!!lolol…the gig started pretty late…a lil after 7 me thinks…was kindof bored by then…was just having fun watching Karen n shradha run around with chai biscoot for Teemeer and gang.
Sabse pehle came Mr. Naveen J Anthraper and band…phew!aisa koi band ka naam hota hai kya??chee chee…but then U2,Pink floyd??...was actually looking forward to that. Really shouldn’t have…he was royally screwing up the vocals…the guitar solo’s were decent…but I personally felt they weren’t up to the mark. And this guy didn’t seem to ever stop!! The sidey jokes and cheesy lines AND chee chee songs …..bwehhh!! but the only reason I didn’t mind his performance at first was cuz he was singin most o my favorite songs. But not later…I’d actually walked out.
But all said n done…SCEPTRE aaya n saved the dayyyy!!! DISTORTION ka superheroes they were… and there was this lallu panju mosh happening and all the teachers ogling at it. And yeah…I saw this teacher who was checking the time every 15 mins…waiting for the “torture” to end…lolol!!
Final verdict?? Pretty decent gig considering it was SIES nerul…I mean I’ve seen people Not being allowed to mosh there at gigs before…so improvement to tha. Naveen..nice choice of songs…but not very effective execution…SCEPTRE…kal ka baap!.....crowd??bad bad bad…I quote Adi(Motu)” New Bombay is full of posers re”…and motuu…unfortunately…that’s quite true.(Sheeet! I agreed with YOU???nahiiiii!!!)

That's Motuu btw...he apparently knows everything..seriously!!Ask him for an opinion about anything under the sun and he'd have a say on it!..however crappy the say may be!lolol...n yaa...he's a dutch truffle promise keeper...atleast with me..dunno bout "others"..i wonder how he manages to owe them 8 truffles????howw?!!??

An Ode To The King

Elvis… Doesn’t take long to fall in love with him. Took me just 2 songs :) The first I ever heard of him was “A lil less conversation” and then “Always on my mind”…n pooof…another fan! He just never fails to amaze me…how he sang each song with such panache, his distinct smile, his curled lip, his eagle, his moves!...those were the best!! Just those 2 songs and out I was downloading whatever I could find of him on the internet… songs, videos of his live shows, interviews, Graceland and then… documentaries of his death. It’s a shame such people never live long enough. I think i just might have caught him alive if I was lucky enough…eh…asking for way too much I suppose :P

Well there’s lots I could write about Elvis…about what I feel of each of his songs…but then…that’s for me…this post was just to wish him a happy birthday, even though I’m a day late…a tribute to my memories of elvis that are all thanks to youtube and ares. Thank you very much!…thank you[:d]
